Installation

  1. A Jira admin installs Advanced Export from the Atlassian Marketplace. A free trial is available.

  2. Open it from Apps → Advanced Export in the Jira top navigation. You can also start an export from issue search, a board or a backlog, through the Advanced Export menu.

  3. Optionally, an admin reviews the App settings: who can schedule reports, the region where data is processed, the email service, and what AI agents may do.

The Rovo agent is installed with the app. To use Advanced Export from Claude or another assistant, an admin turns on its tools once; see Connect AI assistants.

Updates

Section titled “Updates”

Advanced Export is a Forge app, and most updates reach your site automatically. An update that asks for new permissions waits until a Jira admin approves it in Apps → Manage apps. Until then, the app keeps working as before, without the new features. See Forge migration.
